(Level 5 because I did a lot of research and did everything that was asked only that my paragraphs aren't that long)
- What colour could I use, that are more eye-catching?
I
could use the simple colors that are used to do the logo of the real X
Factor so it seems the real competition, but with a little bit of
changes. So I will use the black, white, red and I will add the blue so
it is more personalized. I need also to think about the background that makes a contrast with the logo and the font colors. If I will use a black and red colors those are colors that already stand out so it is fine to use a white background that makes contrast instead if i want to do it more colorful I should match different colors together that make a good contrast together. On the colour wheel, warm colours are red, orange and yellow. It's possible to mix a little of a warm color to a cool color to warm it. Warm colours tend to appear to come towards you, or feel closer to you. Red, orange and yellow are warm, energizing and happy. Cool colors such as green, blue and violet, tend to appear to go away from you and give you more of feeling of space when used in a room. Green, blue and violet are soothing, calming and cooling.
I asked Mr. Kerr if he could help me to answer this question since he is a art teacher. He said to me that I need to focus on the colour wheel because the primary colors are made up even to go well together. He also said to absolutely NOT use two or more bright colors together if not anyone could see the writing and two or more bright colors put together don't result good.
Here there are two videos that show which colors stay well together:

- How big does the font need to be?
The font needs to be visible from a long distance since it is a poster to decorate\promote the X Factor competition in ISM. Also I could put the font in BOLD so it stands out and it is more readable if it is an appropriate font. The relevant information needs to big bigger than the other information. If the font is too little the poster will be a fail because no one can read it. The ideal font size is between 24 and 36pt but if the text doesn't fix we should try a smaller text until it fits at the perfection.
Here are some fonts advices:
To be legible from 6 feets use 30pt
To be legible from 10 feets use 48pt
To be legible from 12 feets use 60pt
To be legible from 14 feets use 72pt
The most important things need to be more bigger like the title and the less important things like where and when should be smaller but still visible. It is suggested that the font size for the title should be 85pt and the headers between 36 and 44pt.
I asked Lorenzo Dall'omo, one of my class mate, if he ever saw a poster that he couldn't read the font. He responded yes, that he saw many posters that he couldn't see the font infact not onyl posters around the school but even posters in the streets.

- How big does the poster needs to be?
The poster needs to be big enough to see it from a long distance. The poster also need to be big enough to contain a lot of things because it needs to contain big information for people to see and also it need to be big enough to contain the logo and the writing. Usually the poster are not small but not too big, they are made to attract people's attention so, in my case, I think it will be a A3 poster so that is not too little but not too big to ruin the school environment.

- Which software could I use?
I searched in internet which software was better to use for creating a poster. Internet said that most posters are made with Photoshop or with adobe illustration but don't know how to use this programs and I think we can't use them. So I searched in more detail and it suggested me to use publisher because it has all the requirements that are needed to do a simple poster. If you want to do a more complicated poster it said that you could use paint.net but I don't think I will use it.

- What font could I use? Formal or Informal?
I could use formal and informal font because it is a school poster so it can be informal and formal. The font needs to be readable and easy to be seen and read. Internet suggested me to use simple fonts such as: tahoma, Broadway, arial, Gills Sans, Minnions or Calson because they are big and easy to be seen. The font should be written in black or blue or colours that are not to shiny. Usually the font of the title and important information is in font 70 or 90. It is important to try to avoid using more than 2 font types because too many fonts distract the viewer. This is especially true when they appear on the same sentence. I should avoid using fonts like Joker or the writing in italics because they are very difficult to read from e short distance, imagine from a long distance it will be impossible.

- What makes a good poster?
The
poster should be original and eye-catching that makes the public want
to stop and read it. I should only have basic points. I need to use
variety of colors that can be seen and not like the font yellow and the background white because if not you can't see anything. It needs to be organized and readable. It should not
contain unappropriated language. It needs to be well layout and neat. It should have a right order not that the information is one in a place and another information in another place. A great poster is: readable because Readability is a measure of how easily the ideas flow from one item to the next. Text that has lots of grammatical problems, complex or passive sentence structure, and misspellings is "hard to read", legible because A common error in poster presentations is use of fonts that are too small to be read from 6-10 feet away, a typical distance for reading a poster, well-organized because organization makes the difference between reaching 95% rather than just 5% of your audience and finally succinct because studies show that you have only 11 seconds to grab and retain your audience's attention so I need to make the punchline brief infact say that most of the people absorb only the punchline. This video suggests good things that make a good poster:

I got my information from all sites that don't seem biased or like wikipedia that the information that we get from there could be wrong. I searched for good sites that were very reliable because they were veruy formal sites for example university sites or high quality sites. We can see it from the apperance and because you see if the information is nto done well so there are some grammatical errors or you spot something that it isn't right, the site that you are looking maybe biased. In some sites that I looked they were not very detailed but contained the right information to help me and respond in long sentences to my guiding questions.
